The Performance Management Revolution

While the traditional performance appraisal has been seen as critical and beneficial by nearly every organization in every industry for decades, research in the past few years has revealed the exact opposite: neither employees nor employers find annual performance reviews - as they've been done in the past - beneficial to performance. What that means, according to this article from Harvard Business Review, is that in order to continue to provide the feedback and guidance employees need to be successful, organizations must reinvent the wheel, incorporate technology, more frequent conversations, and data analysis.
